ICAA Luminaries Esquisse
The ICAA Chicago Luminaries Esquisse brought together students and emerging professionals for a fast-paced morning of collaboration, sketching, and architectural thinking. Participants worked individually or in teams to respond to a design prompt centered on Oak Street Beach, challenging them to envision a permanent fieldhouse that addressed the practical needs of a public beach facility while responding to the civic and architectural character of Chicago’s Gold Coast lakefront.
Rather than focusing on polished final presentations, the Esquisse celebrated the design process itself: testing ideas, thinking through drawing, and learning from one another in a supportive and creative environment. The Esquisse was presented as part of the Richard H. Driehaus Curricula for the Built Environment at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, with generous support from the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.
