The ICAA Luminaries Young Professionals invite you to a unique afternoon of art, architecture, and medical history at the International Museum of Surgical Science. This Chicago treasure is North America's only museum dedicated to surgery and housed in a historic Gold Coast mansion inspired by Le Petit Trianon at Versailles.
We’ll begin with a guided tour of the museum, exploring four floors of paintings, prints, sculptures, and artifacts that span the history of medicine and surgery—set against the backdrop of a neoclassical 1917 building. From marble staircases to gilded details, this often-overlooked architectural gem offers a wealth of inspiration.
Following the tour, guests are welcome to stay for a self-guided sketching session—please bring your own sketching materials. Special thanks to Luminaries committee member Morgan Gaudet of Craig & Co. for organizing this event.
