The ICAA Chicago Luminaries Esquisse is a fast-paced design charrette that brings together students and emerging professionals for a morning of collaboration, drawing, and architectural thinking. Participants may register individually or as teams of up to four people. Teams will respond to the design prompt revealed at the start of the event. There are no required drawing deliverables: plans, sections, elevations, perspectives, diagrams, physical models, or mixed-media representations are all welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring their own design tools and preferred creative mediums, while drawing surfaces/presentation boards will be provided.

Rather than focusing on polished final presentations, the event celebrates the design process itself: sketching ideas, testing concepts, and learning from one another in a supportive environment. The event concludes with a casual pin-up. After a jury conducts a thorough offline review, winners will be announced one week after the event.
