Crafting Contemporary Classicism: A Conversation with Curtis & Windham Architects and Jamb

  • Saddle & Cycle Club 900 West Foster Avenue Chicago, IL, 60640 United States (map)

The Chicago-Midwest ICAA is pleased to present Crafting Contemporary Classicism: A Conversation with Curtis & Windham Architects and Jamb
at the Saddle & Cycle Club.

This special evening serves as a fundraiser in support of the Chicago-Midwest ICAA’s mission to advance classical architecture, design, and the allied arts. Your participation directly supports our educational programming and events throughout the year.

About the Program

In the design world, both Curtis & Windham Architects and Jamb are sought out for their uncompromising dedication to craft, artisanship, and innovation. Curtis & Windham, known for their innovative approach and unique ability to translate history for modern living in a range of relevant architectural vernaculars, has built a reputation as one of the country’s leading architecture firms. Jamb, a favorite of architects and designers across the globe, is an iconic dealer of the finest antique and reproduction fireplaces and lighting, as well as original sculpture.

Though they come from different sides of the design world, these frequent collaborators share a vision that honors historical authenticity while reimagining the principles of classicism for contemporary living. Join Will Fisher and Charlotte Freemantle of Jamb, along with Bill Curtis and Russell Windham of Curtis & Windham Architects, for this special conversation moderated by ICAA Chicago board member Lynn Osmond.

Attendees will enjoy behind-the-scenes insights into the collaborators’ processes, a look at new projects, and discussion on how traditional aesthetics are brought into new houses, how their own work and tastes have evolved, and why ingenuity remains essential in classical architecture and design today.
